Cold Hump Day

Good morning everyone. It is a cold 40 degrees here with the high temp only getting into the low 50s so it is time to switch into my winter clothes until March. That's only 4 months away. huh

During the last few months, I've been relatively useless so the house cleaning stuff has been put into a big hold. The time has come for me to get things cleaned up here before the holidays kick in. I also have company coming next week which gives me a little more motivation. I have to take it slow and easy so I don't aggravate anything

Everything in the fishroom is going well. The downsizing has really been helpful to me because there is so much less to do.

I was offered a relatively new 75G setup and I turned down the offer. I was tempted to get it but that would have involved a tank breakdown followed by loading and unloading the tank into my SUV and I'm pretty sure I would have hurt myself in the process. Besides that I already have a never used 75G tank sitting on the floor of the fishroom so I have no use for another one.

I just finished paying off all of my bills for the month and I was surprised at how little spending I did last month. My utility bill was $100 lower than last month's bill and that was a result of downsizing the fishroom. Now I have to get rid of the cable bill because that is just a waste of money.

Wishing you all a great day. I'll check on you all later.

Too Many Fish. Not Enough Tanks.

Good morning Willie, Ron and Liz.  It is also cold here now, tonight is our first frost.  I have all my plants that were outside brought into my sunroom, the ones that are tropical, not too many.  This time tomorrow my garden blooms will probably be brown mush.  Oh well.  About 40 outside now at 8am.  Going up to 50's.

No handing out candy last night. Just too many kids to buy candy for, since the city made my neighborhood "one of the best places to trick or treat".  They pour in from the whole city.  No thanks.  Plus my 3 elderly lady cats dont need all the doorbell ringing, knocking, noises on the porch, etc.

I am recovering from skin surgery on my back Monday.  During my 6 mo. skin check recently, a bad tiny mole was biopsied, found to be almost Melanoma, so they got me in right away for surgery.  I have a 3" rather deep incision in my upper back now, 12 stitches. Dont know if the pain or the itching is worse.  And the many needles of lidocaine first hurt like the devil.  And my mouth still has issues.  Other than these, I am great, so trying hard not to complain about anything.

Need to clean my 2 Betta bowls today, sun now shining into each of them in my LR, and the algae has taken over. Yes, I keep Discus, Endlers and Bettas, how is that for a combo?  And goldfish! And 1 koi.

You all take care, especially you Liz.  Will call soon,
Barb

Good morning Willie, and Barb.  31 this morning and only getting into the 50's this afternoon.  It was highs in the mid 80's and lows in the upper 60's.  I haven't had time to harden off.  Cold is tough on a tropical flower like myself.

Al sent me a Nikon D200 as a gift.  My choices of things to do today are either clean this filthy house that hasn't been looked at for over a week, or study the intricacies of the new camera.  I'd much rather play with the camera, but I'm not sure if I can handle living in a house like this for another day.

Barb, that surgery was something!  You be sure and have a skin doctor check every inch of your skin yearly from now on.  Melanoma is some scary shit.

Willie, did you ever ask your doctor about Cymbalta?  It has been an immense help to me.

Ron, you're the only one of the 5 of us (including Dennis) who doesn't have health stuff going on.  I'm happy for you, but I have to admit to being just a tad bit jealous.

If anyone wants to see pics of my Discus fry on daddy's side I posted them to Simply.  Take a look!  https://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?140288-Thank-you-Al!!!!

I'll check in later either with pics of a clean house or more fish pics.
Always move forward. Never look back.
