Ash Wednesday - Hump Day

Good afternoon everyone. Hopefully you are all well today. I'm in the fishroom finishing up my water changes. I am currently waiting for my water heater to heat up the water so that I can finish .

Since I've been trying to do extra (for me) water changes to make up for my slacking off at the end of last year I will be interested to see how much the water bill will be for February. In this town it's not the water bill  that is expensive but rather the sewer bill that gets you. The sewer bill is 1.5 times the amount of the water bill from which it is based on. That should be a crime.

This the summer I will route the water from my yard spigots to the fishroom and I will bypass the main water meter and not get charges for the sewer. I can't do that in the winter because it will seem odd to be using the outside spigots at this time of year.

It is currently 55 degrees here with plenty of sunshine so it feels pretty good out. Only 18 days before spring begins and I can't wait, allergies and all. Once I finish down here I will go out for a nice long walk with Kobe.

Have a great day everyone.

Too Many Fish. Not Enough Tanks.

Hi Willie.  You sound cheerful today.

It's 75 outside today.  It's sunny and just beautiful out.

I got my WC's done earlier and moved some snots and shrimp to 5 gallon tanks.  They're easier to catch in a small BB tank than it is in the planted tanks where they live.

It's another bad back day.  I still haven't made it to the mechanic.  I will after I swallow my afternoon meds.  The chickens are out of feed so I'll also go to the little feed store in Ellisville while I'm in town.

I'm enjoying 3 shrimp egg rolls that I made a while back.  I took them out of the freezer to  defrost and popped them into my countertop oven to heat and crisp back up.  God they're good!  I want to make more soon since they freeze and reheat so well.  I wonder if I can make them with smoked salmon.  I think they'd need a cream cheese sauce rather than the usual sweet and sour sauce mixed with Chinese hot mustard.  I'll think about this one.  Egg rolls take too much prep work to get them all done and have them not turn out good.

I think I'll lie down on my bed for a while until it's time for my drugs.  My old worthless spine rules everything I do.

Always move forward. Never look back.

Hi Willie, Liz and Ron.  It is also a nice day here, 78 and sunny.  But I have had a few disappointments, so it really has been a hard day.  No need to elaborate.  My pond needs the filters cleaned out, ready for Spring.  I have 2 new filters, easier to care for, so I am anxious to get them up and running.  They are in-pond filters which I like.  Hopefully I can keep them clean without the danger of falling into the pond.  Never have and don't want a first time.

Hope you all have a good evening, if you read this tonight, and I will be back tomorrow.
