I have never used a self checkout.
It's already a big enough disaster many times with a cashier.
And though my lack of education hasn't hurt me none.
I can read the writing on the wall.

I have never used self checkout so I can't say for sure.

But i'm betting the lines move like 'molasses in winter time.'

...if you only have a few things it goes pretty quickly really.......but, myself, I wonder why they even do it except to use the shopper as an employee to do their work, and put someone else's job at stack....?...it's like always..it's all about the $$$'s...... huh

Yeah some places already have no baggers, which I can put up with.
But i'm sure not going to be cashier too.

My brother showed me a video he recorded the other day of a unmanned floor cleaning machine at a store.

Sounds like a good idea, until some kid gets sucked up or smashed by it.

...dang auto floor cleaner machine and software costs more than the hourly maintenance worker that would do it manually.....

Yeah it's not like they would be paying them a lot of cash to do it.

I worked for a cleaning company that did the floors at a local Sears store.
Shit paying job,i wasn't  operating the machine, but bet the guy that was wasn't making much more,if any.
